Seniors and Parent
Please mark your calendar for a FAFSA friendly night on Wednesday, October 7th at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Representatives from Crowder will be here to discuss different types of financial aid available to college students, including grants, loans, scholarships and how the FAFSA relates to those topics. The presentation will also include information on the FSA ID and its importance with the FAFSA.
Miranda Kassner will be here from the Ellis Foundation:
Miranda will be happy to help out by adding helpful supplements to help clarify the information. But more than anything she’ll be happy to be there to answer questions and talk one on one to anyone who is still questioning colleges versus trades versus entering the workforce, etc. She has also agreed to help with parents going to the web site to get started.
Whether you’re a student, parent, or borrower, you’ll need to create your own account to complete federal student aid tasks.
You will need to create this account to use for the following:

We have had another great week in the building. Although it has been a short week, a lot of learning has taken place. I was able to hop into classrooms this week and see the amazing job our staff is doing. Seeing so many engaged students in the classrooms was wonderful to see and speaks volumes for both the students and our staff. Here are a few updates for the week.
I want to again thank everyone for working with the school while we our utilizing our four phase plan. We had our first week in yellow and students adapted to the changes very quickly. Temp checks in the morning have been very smooth and students have been able to get into the building in a timely fashion. We will offer second breakfast while in the yellow phase and that began this past Wednesday.
As a friendly reminder, picture day is set for September 17. Orders will be held online this year and a link to the order form is on our website. If you need a physical order form, please contact the office and we can send one home with your kiddo. Virtual students will have the opportunity to take their school pictures that day as well from 8:00 – 8:15 in the auditorium. I strongly encourage our virtual students to participate in picture day to avoid not being pictured in the yearbook.
First mid-quarter has been shifted from September 18th to September 25th. This will be utilized to determine mandatory tutoring or ineligibility to participate in activities. Please refer to the student handbook for details on this policy.
Homecoming is coming up and plans are well on their way for the event. To go along with the previous point, students who have a grade of D+ or lower in any class will not be allowed to participate in Homecoming activities during the school day. Please encourage your students to check in on their grades and ensure their eligibility for this fun day.
That is all for now but as always, please do not hesitate to contact the office or my email at jgilbert@richhill.k12.mo.us. It is always a great day to be a Tiger!
