Rich Hill Class of 2025 graduate Carter Bell has been awarded the Mike Rowe Work Ethic Scholarship for $8,500 for the 2025–26 school year!

This prestigious nationwide scholarship program awarded a total of $2.5 million in scholarships this year to hardworking students across the country.

Just a quick reminder that high school fall sports practices start tomorrow. This is the beginning of the season, and these practices are mandatory. Tomorrow's practice schedule is as follows:
HS Volleyball 6:00-8:00 AM in the Dome
HS Cross Country 6:30-8:00AM Meet in the Gym
HS Cheer 7:45-9:00AM in the Gym
HS Football 4:00-6:30PM
Make sure everyone has proper footwear and their own water bottles to drink out of.
Jr High practices do not start until Monday the 18th and that info will be sent out at a later date. Go Tigers!!!

Due to daycare enrollment, we are looking to add an additional daycare worker to our staff. If you are interested in this position and have not already submitted an application, please submit your application as soon as possible.

MSHSAA, in conjunction with the National Federation of State High School Associations, are continuing their efforts to promote citizenship, integrity, and positive sportsmanship through the interscholastic activity programs.
Rich Hill was given 4 awards to be awarded to our students. Rich Hill staff selected two high school and two junior high students who they feel promote citizenship, integrity, and positive sportsmanship.

We’re looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our kitchen team!
Part-time position available –
Responsibilities may include: Food prep and cooking assistance, cleaning/dishwashing, and maintaining kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
Experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person!

High school cross country practice will start on Mondy Aug. 11th at 6:30-7:45 AM, and we will start at the gym. We will try to keep this time all week to avoid the afternoon heat. JH cross country will start Monday the 18th and we will announce the time for that week as we get closer to that date. Make sure to bring your own water, and shoes that you are ok with getting a little wet as the grass will be damp.

Last Call! I must have these by Tuesday, August 5 to be included. I only have 3 businesses at the moment for the calendar. If you received phone calls to be placed on an athletic calendar, that was not the school and we will not receive them or the money.

All proceeds, minus actual printing cost, will go directly to student athletics.

High School Volleyball season starts August 11th at 6 am.

Zane Becker, Class of 2025, signed his letter of intent with Pittsburg State University. Becker will begin his training this fall with the Gorilla track team as a multi-event track athlete! Congratulations Zane!

Cell Phone Changes
Parents and Students, Missouri law has changed to restrict students from using cell phones between 8am and 3pm during the school day. We are currently working on what that is going to look like for this coming year.

K-5 nothing will change. Children with cell phones will leave them turned off in their backpacks to be stored at the back of the classroom between 8am and 3pm.

6-12 will be different. We are ordering YONDR pouches and any student who wants to have their cell phone at school will have to purchase a pouch for $30 from the school. The student will place the phone in their pouch upon coming into the building and snap it shut. The pouch may be opened using a special release that staff monitoring exits as students leave the building will be holding.

All students 6-12 who have a phone in the building will be required to keep it in a pouch between 7:56am and 3:05pm. No exceptions. Students who have a medical need documented by a 504 Plan or IEP will be eligible for a medical pouch that will allow their phone to communicate with their medical device.

Students who are caught with a phone out of the pouch will have it taken away and held until a parent or guardian can pick it up during school hours. Additional consequences will apply for each infraction.

Driving students may leave their phone in their car between 8am and 3pm. This means students will not be allowed to visit their vehicles between 8am and 3pm. Any work or materials left in cars will be considered missing or late and can be turned in after school or the next day.

We will have more information and guidance on this as we get closer to the first day of school. We will post notice as soon as YONDR pouches are available for purchase.

On a personal note, my daughter’s school has been using these for a couple of school years now. She is going to be a junior and she loves it. She said there are less distractions during class and less drama from kids snapping and texting each other during the day. She has chosen to leave her phone at home rather than mess with the pouch on a daily basis.
