Four-Phase Plan and Reopening

The office has been receiving phone calls asking about the status of returning to school. As of now, we are planning on starting August 24 as planned. I continue to attend virtual meetings about the the start of school including budget and food service issues.

We have ordered a large supply of sanitizers and equipment to ensure making school as safe as possible for our children.

To prepare to reopen, the board approved a basic 4 phase plan that we will modify as we figure out how implementation is going to work and what county and state restrictions are going to be.

Phase 1--No Threat; Normal School with temperature checks and increased sanitization procedures

Phase 2--Precautionary Measures; Phase 1 protocol+staff wear face shields or masks, student organization limits spread, increased sanitization protocol

Phase 3--School Exposure; Phase 1&2 protocol+restricted student movement, meals served in classroom

Phase 4--Building Shut-Down; Online classes, meal delivery

We want the plan to be basic so we have flexibility to make quick updates so we can best serve students depending on what is happening at all levels. School buses are the most confined spaces we have. Any assistance in helping minimize bus riders by planning to drop your kids off at school or pick them up after school will reduce the amount of time kids are on buses. We will release more information and plans as they become available.
