March 31, 2026 vs. Hume

Despite leading by as many as four runs, the Rich Hill Varsity Tigers fell to Hume 11–9 on Tuesday in a high-scoring contest.

The Tigers tallied four hits while Hume collected nine. Rich Hill got on the board early in the top of the first inning, with runs coming from a Coonce-Bearce groundout, Gillis being hit by a pitch, a walk by Keith, and another hit-by-pitch from Burris.

Hume answered in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs to take a 5–4 lead. The Tigers responded in the second inning, reclaiming the lead after Tialino was hit by a pitch, Gillis drew a walk, and Burris was again hit by a pitch, each bringing in a run.

Hume tied the game at seven in the bottom of the second with a triple to right field, then pulled ahead for good in the fourth inning, capitalizing on an error along with a single and a triple to drive in three runs.

Tialino was on the mound for the Tigers, allowing nine hits and 11 runs (10 earned) over six innings while striking out two and walking 11.

Burris led the Tigers with two RBIs, while Steuck recorded two hits in five at-bats. The Tigers showed patience at the plate, drawing 11 walks, with Burris, Gillis, and Keith each earning two. On the bases, Potter, Coonce-Bearce, and Steuck each stole multiple bases as the team totaled 11 steals.

Despite the loss, the Tigers showed strong teamwork and resilience, battling throughout the game and never backing down. Every player contributed, whether on the field or from the dugout, and the coaches were proud of the team’s effort against a tough Hume squad.

The Tigers will look to bounce back at home on Thursday, April 2nd, against Jasper.
