Good afternoon and Happy Friday!

We had a great week in the building and wrapped up third quarter today. It is very exciting that fourth quarter starts on Tuesday. The nicer weather outside has been very nice and I hope many have plans to enjoy it this weekend. Here are some updates in the building.

Third quarter ended today. Grade cards will be sent home next week.

Students will not be in session on Monday (3/8) due to professional development for staff.

Attention junior high students: The fourth quarter rotation will start on Tuesday. 8th grade students going into art need a sketch book that is approximately 9x11.

Spring Fling Dance for Junior High Sponsored by the Sophomore Class is on  Friday March 12th.

Relay For Life Week was a success. $722 was raised for the cancer society.

FBLAPlease congratulate the following students for moving on to state in FBLA: Destiney Burris-3rd place for Organizational Leadership, Katie Tourtillott- 5th place for Business Calculations, and Layla Brown-Wildcard for Intro to FBLA.

NHS :Induction Ceremony was held Tuesday March 9th at 7:00 PM.

Art Department: The art department will be having a guest speaker this month, Tom Altenburg, who was raised in Rich Hill and has had an amazing art career, he is going to share his experiences and his work with our students. The art department is also preparing work to be ready for the virtual art show that will be at the end of April. 

Music DepartmentMarch is Music in our Schools Month!

Congratulations to the following students who made the 2021 WEMO Conference Band and were placed amongst all competing students in the conference! 1st Chair Trumpet - Hayden Schapeler, 2nd Chair Trumpet - Miranda Dougherty, 6th Chair Trumpet - Hannah White, 8th Chair Trumpet - Adrien King, 11th Chair Trumpet - Daylan Black, 1st Chair Bari Sax - Emily Black, 2nd Chair Baritone - Salym Bolser, 4th Chair Baritone - Izetta Person, 3rd Chair Clarinet - Sydney Bell, 12th Chair Clarinet - Lydia Fox, 4th Chair Flute - Destiney Burris, 6th Chair Flute - Noelle Abend, 4th Chair Alto Sax - Kyla Couzens, and 6th Chair Percussion - Bryce Yohe.

Also, we have 11 solos going to state contest this year! They will be sending in videos for judging this year instead of traveling to Columbia.

The high school band and color guard leave for their Branson trip on March 13th! 

A lot of great stuff going on. Reminds me that it is always a great day to be a Tiger!!!
