The JH/HS Principal Corner (2/5/21)

Good afternoon and Happy Friday!!!

Another week in the books and Courtwarming tonight! We have had a lot of great things going on in the building and wanted to focus this email mainly on them with a few other items as well. Have a great weekend!!!

Courtwarming game is tonight. Come support your Tigers!!!

The third quarter mid-term is today. Grade cards will be sent out next week. Reminder: Virtual students will not receive mid-term grade cards. Please make sure your on pace and check grades through Acellus.

Please congratulate the following students for moving on to the next level of districts by placing in the top eight in their categories in FBLA:

Entrepreneurship; Destiney Burris, Christina Corriston, Ally Ephland

Intro to Event Planning: Emma Garwood, Desirae Stangel, Kiahna Brown

Sports and Entertainment: Daylan Black, Isaac Brooks and Brayden Chandler

They participated last Friday afternoon and should know the results of their presentations soon.

High School Scholar Bowl placed 2nd at their first meet! High School team members are Miranda Dougherty (captain), Kyla Couzens, Taryn Jones, Izetta Person, and Nathan Mubunga.

Junior High Scholar Bowl placed 2nd at their first meet also! Junior High team members are Oscar Green (captain), Levi Smalley, Kaylee Couzens, Damian Ahart, Rebecca George, and Mady Ephland.

Here are the State FFA Degree and Proficiency Screening Night results. Congratulations to Clifton, Rachel, Carlie, and Abby who will move to the next level of screening to obtain their MO State Degree. Maddy will receive her Area degree.

1st Places in their proficiency area include Noelle in Agriscience Integrated Systems, Clifton in Forage Production, Abby in Forest Products, Maddy in Equine Entrepreneurship, and Adrien in Outdoor Recreation.

2nd places in their proficiency area include Katie in Goat Production, Sydney in Small Animal, and Hailey in Poultry.

3rd places in their proficiency area include Rachel in Diversified Crop Placement, Lucas in Landscape Management, and Sydney in Vet Science. 

4th place in their proficiency area include Rachel in Beef Placement.

As you can see, many great things going on. And there is a super bowl happening I think... GO CHIEFS!!!!
