Adrian vs Rich Hill
On Friday night the Rich Hill Tigers traveled up I-49 to play the Adrian Blackhawks in the Tigers third conference game of the year. The Tigers were 1-1 going into this contest after defeating Osceola on Tuesday night.
The Varsity contest started out looking like Adrian might take control early but the Tigers came to play on this night. Adrian used their size to try and control the paint and were able to get some easy early looks but the Tigers kept adjusting the defense and the offense held their own. After one quarter of play the Tigers trailed the Blackhawks by the slim margin of 12-13. In the second quarter the Tigers held tough and with their attacking the basket, saw a couple of Blackhawks in foul trouble. The quarter end with Adrian holding a 31-26 lead. The third quarter saw the Tiger defense tighten but the offense hit a cold stretch and were never able to close ground on Adrian and after three the Tigers trailed. The final frame saw Rich Hill drop down as much as 15 points but kept battling to comeback as much as possible but in the end the Tigers fell to the Blackhawks by a score of 63-51.
