NEVC vs Rich hill

Part two of the 20-21 Basketball season opened on Monday night for the Rich Hill Tigers against district opponent of the Knights of Northeast Vernon County Knights at home. The Tigers were coming off a long Christmas break lay off. The Tigers came into the game on a 3 game skid with a record of 2-5.

The first quarter saw both teams trying to knock the rust off their game both offensively and defensively but after the end of one the Tigers held the lead of 9-8. The second quarter saw Rich Hill kick the offense into high gear using the defensive press to create turnovers and running the floor to score nineteen-- points in the quarter while holding their guest to just four points. At half time the Tigers had jumped to a 28-12 lead. Starting the second half the offense continued to produce with sixteen points but the defense let down a little and allowed the Knights to score ten points of their own. After three quarters the Tigers led the Knights 44-22. In the fourth quarter Coach Moles went to his bench using most of the players which saw NEVC outscore the Tigers but in the end Rich Hill won their third game of the season 53-35. Coach Moles was for the most part was please with the team effort but hoped to clean up the defense a little more. The Tigers improved their season record to 3-5

Rich Hill placed nine players in the score book with Magal Chol-Case leading the way with 16 points followed by Clifton Bridgewater 9. Brayden Chandler 6, Adrien King and Bryce Yohe 5 apiece, Lucas Harwood and Daniel Bridgewater 5 and Daylan Black and Noah Smarr 2. NEVC was led by Justin Culbertson with 16 followed by Kylan Bachand with 15. The next game was to be Tuesday night to open the WEMO Conference portion of their season with a home game against the Liberal Bulldogs.
