AotW-Clifton

Junior football player Clifton Bridgewater was recognized as the area's Athlete of the Week by Kellie Davidson, State Farm Agent. Head Coach Eric Moles nominated Clifton for impressive play last Friday against the visiting Drexel Bobcats. Clifton's performance was instrumental in leading the Rich Hill Tigers to a 32-6 victory over the state-ranked Drexel team. He rushed for a season-high 257 yards while scoring 4 touchdowns. Defensively, Clifton tallied 10 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss. Coach Moles added that Clifton is a hard worker on and off the field, is a positive role model for those around him, and maintains a high grade point average.

Characteristics and criteria for the athlete of the week are good sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, results in the classroom, and any other attributes that set the student apart from peers. At the end of the school year, one name will be selected from all recipients of the award as the winner of $500 scholarship in State Farm’s name.
